Prevention
You can reduce your risk substantially by keeping your blood glucose (and A1C) within the healthy range determined by your diabetes care team and by keeping your blood pressure under 130/80mmHg.
Research shows that controlling blood glucose levels and blood pressure will significantly decrease the development and progression of kidney disease in people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Start taking steps to manage your diabetes, and decrease your risk for kidney disease.
